Turillo Park: A New Community Pocket Park
Turillo Park is an upcoming community pocket park located in Jennerstown, Pennsylvania. Designed to be a cozy green space, the park aims to serve as a focal point for the neighborhood, fostering a sense of togetherness and camaraderie among residents. This initiative is part of the Jennerstown Area Recreation and Community Association’s (JARCA) ongoing efforts to improve the community through organizing events, building community spirit, maintaining common areas, facilitating communications, and advocating for residents. jennerstownarea.com
The park is named in honor of the Turillo family, who have been integral to the Jennerstown community. Notably, Turillo’s Steak House, established in 1939, was a beloved local restaurant that operated until its closure in 2015. The iconic sign from the restaurant, dating back to 1966, was removed around 2019 and is now part of a private collection.
Turillo Park is envisioned as a space that not only provides recreational opportunities but also celebrates the rich history and legacy of the Turillo family in Jennerstown.

Jennerstown Playground & borough Park
Jennerstown Area Recreation and Community Association, formerly known as Jennerstown Recreation Committee, was established in 2016 to raise funds to replace the Jennerstown Borough Park Playground Equipment.
Over $80,000 was raised for the project thru donations, fundraising and grants.
After completing the playground and basketball court work began on the remainder of the park.
A 6- foot- high fence was purchased to keep kids safe while playing.
The two pavilions were cleaned up and minor repairs made. JARCA purchased 9 picnic tables for anyone using the park to have seating to relax, have a picnic and celebration.
Around the outside edge of the expanded parking lot 6 trees were planted and dedicated to borough residents that sponsored the trees.
